A statewide project to provide reliable online research databases to all Arkansas libraries --

academic, public, school and special.

Libraries pay nothing

Funding:

Institute for Museum and Library Services

with Library Services and Technology Act

funds (87%) and the Arkansas Department of Education (13%)

·       Access to the databases

Libraries register IP numbers for seamless access

from school 

 --  Each library has direct access

Remote access licenses provide access from home   

 -- IDs and passwords are provided to the libraries.

Not covered by the subscription

Cost of printing or emailing OCLC First Search ASCII documents is the responsibility of the individual libraries;

Discounted subscription to Gale's Health and Wellness Resource Center, because Traveler only pays a $20,000 subsidy to reduce the individual library fee.

Price Comparison:  The individual library can purchase two licenses to HWRC for approx. $4,500, but a Traveler library will pay $1,583 for unlimited access.
