State Library Services at the ARKANSAS STATE LIBRARY
This is just a note to let you know that the Arkansas State Library will be closing December 7, 2009 in order for us to prepare for our move to our new location. The following information deals with Reference and Interlibrary Loan departments’ services during the move.
How will Reference and Interlibrary Loan operate during its move in December/January?
These two services will have LIMITED service during our move. Patrons may not have walk-in access to the library itself, but they may still email, fax or call us. For your convenience, access to Federal and State documents may still be available at other Arkansas depository libraries.
For libraries needing either Reference or Interlibrary Loan service, you may continue emailing, phoning, or faxing your PHOTOCOPY requests to us until December 23, 2009. The State Library (AST) will be listed as a Non-Supplier on OCLC; we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for anyone.
What to do with materials received, returned, or needing renewals?
We are now posting the due date of 1-27-2010 for materials borrowed from the Arkansas State Library.
If you have borrowed materials from us, and you will not be able to post it in the mail to us before December 11, 2009, please retain our materials at your library until 1-27-2010. You may ask for renewals until December 23, 2009.
We will not charge any overdue fees. However, lost book or damaged book fees will still be charged if our materials are lost or damaged.
Please return all materials by First Class, UPS, or Fed Ex.
If you have an emergency, you may phone 501-682-2053 and ask for Reference or Interlibrary Loan.
When will Reference and Interlibrary Service be restored?
We are scheduled to restore services after March 1, 2010. Notification will be sent via emails, mailings, or web postings.
