What is a Patent and Trademark
Depository Library (PTDL)?
A regionally located library that
maintains a core collection, which includes a backfile of U.S. Patents. The library houses
the patent and trademark collections but is not responsible for receiving fees or
registration for the U.S. PTO.

only cover recent patents. Use the "Worldwide" database for patents over 2-4
years old in all countries, except perhaps Japan.
